Today I shot some pictures for DUCK. DUCK stands for Downtown Urban Community Kids. It's a really great place that lets children from less privileged backgrounds come and learn, play and have bible study. All of the kids there seemed to be really happy and enthusiastic about learning. Hopefully I can finish editing these soon and see how they like them!
I met my Mom today at the mall and got some lunch with her. It was nice catching up with her since we haven't in awhile! Fashion Square also turned the water back on in the fountain in the middle! It was exciting for me because I remember it as a kid and got sad when they turned it off a few years ago.
Steve and I went to Lee's today to pick up his tax returns. And to say hello to Cleo of course! She's so adorable! And heavy...she might need a kitty diet...even her tail is fat haha
We started throwing on the wheel in ceramics a few days ago...I forgot just how much it can hurt :( The clay I got has larger pieces of sand in it than my poor little hand would like. It's tearing up the side of my hand! Hopefully I can find some new clay soon and bust out some more cylinders without blood.
These are pretty cool drinks. My mom introduced me to them awhile ago, but I found them at a gas station tonight! It's a water drink that has a cap full of vitamins. You twist the cap and the vitamins and flavoring drop down into the water and then you shake it up. They're really tasty and good for you too!
Apparently if you ask Dairy Queen for a little extra hot fudge, they give you a cup full. Helloooo diabetes.
If you haven't seen one of these before...go find one now! It's a touchscreen drink machine! Steve and I went to the Tempe Art Festival today, which was really fun, and came across this piece of awesomeness inside a Five Guys. There are tons and tons of options it's ridiculous...I have no idea how they do it! You can get Coke, Vanilla Coke, Cherry Coke, Lime Coke, Peach Coke...any flavor of any drink you could think of. You can also get water or even club soda! I don't know...maybe I'm just fascinated my things too easily but I think these machines are really ingenious and awesome!
Today while I was eating dinner with Steve, I got texts from a few friends all at once saying I had to go and check my website for ASU. I couldn't eat after that haha I was so nervous because I was about to find out if I made it into the photography program at ASU or not! So I sped ate what I could and rushed home! Before I knew it, there I was, waiting for the news I've been preparing for for two years...actually ever since I was little...waiting....waiting...waiting....and finally, I saw what I've been wanting to see forever:

That's right...I made it in! I can't believe it wooooooooooooooooo!!!! :) I'm officially a Photography major and on my way to finishing my BFA with a concentration in Photography :) I'm so happy I can't express it in words. I have always been too afraid to pursue photography because I love it so much that I don't want to fail at it. I always want photography in my life. This will sound really cheesey, but I'm so proud of myself. I'm proud that I pushed myself past my comfort zone and put myself out there. I gave myself a chance and boy does it feel good! It's nice to know that other people believe in you and see potential in your work. So needless to say, today is fantastic :) I'm really excited for the journey that photography has to take me on!
Update:
I got the official letter in the mail a few days after. I'm framing this bad boy!

Today we started throwing on the wheel in ceramics class. I was pretty nervous because I haven't done anything on the wheel since Sophomore year in high school. Surprisingly though, I found out that I remembered how to do everything and I didn't suck completely! Yay haha!
I love drinking soda from a glass bottle. They're really awesome and they actually do taste better than canned soda. I wish they offered them at more places!
This is my new addiction...Cinnamon Melts from McDonalds. Seriously, one of the best cinnamon rolls you will ever feed your lucky little mouth! I discovered these a few years ago, but back then they were only available before 8am. Yeah, that was too difficult so I was really surprised to find out they're available at all hours now! I sound like such a fat person right now, but once you have one of these puppies, you won't be able to stop thinking about them. Mmmm
Today I went fishing with my Mom, Dad and Steve! It was a gorgeous day out thankfully and we caught 11 fish altogether! I caught 6 :) Going out on the lake is always relaxing and today was no exception. And it was made even better with great company :)
I've been having trouble sleeping lately and I don't know why. Every once in awhile I won't be able to sleep for days on end and it blows! Last year, I had horrible nightmares every night for two months straight. Never want that to happen again. Let's hope I can fight back the bad dreams and get some peaceful sleep while I have the chance over break!
It's getting towards the end of Spring Break sadly :( Steve and I went on a bike ride and got some ice cream though so it was a nice way to end the day.
Okay so this is horrible quality picture...but my phone was being difficult and didn't want to focus on the snail. It was too curious about the grass apparently. Buuuttt, look at the little guy I found in the middle of a sidewalk! I almost stepped on him :( I picked him up and moved him to this safe little area where no one walks instead. I hope he lives a long happy life.
Every time I see one of these it reminds me of my childhood. I guess I just remember going to the park all the time and picking these up as they fell off the trees. Their texture and the way they move is so neat to me...yes, I know I'm weird. Doesn't it look like a little caterpillar?
Steve is obsessed with these claw machines! Anytime he sees one, he has to try it. He did win me a stuffed dog from one before..but those claws are evil and tricky most of the time!
I wish I could sleep all day. Sleep walking to a whole new level.
Perfect day for a bike ride today
Some days I feel like I can't get out of my head and I'm stuck floating in lala land.
These are probably the coolest ketchup packets I've ever seen! You can tear the top off and squeeze it or you can peel the front off and dip!!! And they have three times the amount of ketchup compared to one of the old packets. I don't know why, but I get excited about stupid little things like this haha
Not what I want to see when I turn my car on in the morning. Seems like everything this week has been going downhill. Thanks for the flat tire, car. Oh well...just blur it out and move on. I'm determined to make this week better!

Steve introduced me to this scrumptious place...Someburros! It's cheap, delicious and addicting!
This is my cd cover/back cover design that I've been working on for my Interior Design/Computer Modeling class. We had to find a background image that had an obvious light source, then take a picture of yourself and edit it so it looks like you're actually there. It was hard getting the shadow and the lighting from the side just right...but I got frustrated after hours and hours of trying so this is what I have haha I'm pretty happy with it. It's fun learning new things in photoshop and creating something that doesn't look half bad!
That's right...it's Girl Scout cookie season!!! :)
Today was my planned surprise for Steve for out 6th month...we had a two day event :) I got us tickets to go see a spring training game since Steve loves baseball. It was really fun! The stadium was awesome and we were sitting in the second row so we were really close to the field. We almost got hit by a line drive ball when we first sat down!! It was really scary...that thing was a murder ball haha Afterward we went to the Sugar Bowl for some ice cream and I have to say I had a great day :)
Today is mine and Steve's 6 month-iversary :) Neither of us have ever celebrated a 6th month before so this is really exciting! I know Steve and I will be together forever and this day is just an awesome reminder of how amazing and perfect Steve and I are together. I never thought I would ever have this..I could never even imagine what we have together. It's so easy and fun and I just love him so much. We are adorable :)
Steve surprised me and took me to Maggiano's for dinner! It was super nice and delicious. Afterward we went to Cracker Jack's and played mini golf...just like we did on our second date :) We also played some games and did go-karts. Best 6th month ever :)
Steve got a bike today! I'm really excited to start going bike riding a lot more often now! I love biking. It's a great way to relax and think and just enjoy the day. We went biking tonight and it was a lot of fun! We biked to Blockbuster and got a movie then we went over to Tempe Marketplace and had some dinner. It was a great way to end the day :)

I did it! I completed and turned in my portfolio!!! I can't believe I actually did it and I'm finally done. I'm really proud of myself for not giving up or chickening out. I'm so worried that I'm going to fail all the time that sometimes I don't give myself a chance to prove myself wrong. Either way this works out, I'm really glad I did this and I'm proud of myself. I didn't submit all the pictures shown above, that's just what I was deciding between. I don't know why but my scanner was being weird so the borders are all wonky and some of the tones in the pictures are off...they look much better in person! At least I hope they do haha I'm so relieved. It's done and there's nothing I can change about it now. There's a huge weight lifted off my shoulders and I feel like I can finally start to relax a little! At least until I get the letter with the results :)
