Why yes I do carry a triceratops in my backpack. For occasions such as this. Run little man run!
Today I worked on my first Photo ll Color assignment. We had to go out at different times of the day over the course of a few days. The point was to study light and see how it changed throughout the day. This was one of my ideas...take pictures of different trees and such, then piece them all together to make one picture. It's interesting to see how the light adds a different hue cast to your photo at different times.
Imma bee imma bee imma imma imma bee bored. Sometimes class is just so painfully bored. Two 3 hour classes back to back is just death some days. Today was one of those days. And so Mr BeeDoodle with stache came into being.
The apartment complex I live in is a cat-tropolis. I walk outside and see strays roaming, sometimes sleeping on or under my car and always crying for some food. So of course I feed them. My roommates and I dubbed this one Dexter. He's our adopted outside kitty. Yes, crazy cat ladiness is starting already.
While working on my photography portfolio, I've come to realize the pressing machine looks very evil. The two little lights on top light up red and when you open it, it looks like a face that you feed your prints to. It's evil. It gobbles and burns hands and sometimes prints. I will get ove-gloves and conquer this beast.
For some reason crickets follow me. Everywhere. I'm always afraid I'm going to step on one but if it does happen someday then I won't feel too bad because they just ask for it. They literally jump right under my feet as I'm walking and then I have to do a weird hop side step thing to avoid them. Thanks for making me look even more weird crickets.
Don't forget to look up.
Today was fun. Steve and I got brunch at the Good Egg which was scrumptious! Afterward we went scooting around town to find some ceramic supplies for me. Who knew clay was so hard to find. We got these little guys at one of the art stores though :) They came in a little box where the thing inside is random so you have no idea what you'll get when you open it. It's pretty exciting. After that we wandered over to Buffalo exchange. Steve found a stitch on Eagles jersey and I found a dress. Later on we went to the batting cages with Steve's brother, Joe, for a little and then Steve and I had a date night :) We saw the movie The Dilemma. Today was a great success!
Today was pretty relaxed. Steve and I went and got lunch then went to the doctors to get his back/neck checked. Afterward I took my Mom's car through one of those drive-through car washes where you stay inside your car. They're pretty awesome! I took this picture while in one. I always feel like I'm in a rocketship when I go in one. After the space adventure, I headed over to my parents to get my car back and then drove back to Tempe to go to Denny's with Steve and Joe. I watched them play Angry Birds as I waited to meet up with my friend Haiden. I hadn't seen him since 4th grade so it was pretty weird and awesome to see him again! He happen to be driving through AZ on his way to Cali so we got to catch up for a bit. It was a nice day :)
Today wasn't too eventful. Went to school for a few hours then met Steve at Taco Bell to have some lunch. I like ripping out messages from receipts at restaurants for some reason so I made this for Steve. We left it behind for someone else to find.
Today I got up at 6am to go to school for 12 hours. The moon was still fully out! I have no idea how people function at that hour. I don't know how I'll function going to school on Wednesdays so early and for so damn long. It'll be an interesting semester haha Everything seemed like a blur today...hopefully it gets easier getting up.
Today was the first day of spring semester. It's nice to be back on campus and going to classes...just not looking forward to the major work loads. I'm going to miss sleep :( So far I really like all of my professors so hopefully it'll stay that way! Not a great picture today, but I was trying to not look like a creeper haha

Today Jess and I went to a noodle place off of University that we always drive by. They give you a huuggeee bowl of broth, noodles, veggies and meat/tofu! It was really tasty...and the carrots were cute :)
Not much to say about today. Steve and I walked around downtown Flagstaff for a bit and went "ice skating" on some ice in the road in our shoes. Then onward to home we went.
Today Steve and I went up to Flagstaff to go sledding. We had a lot of fun even though we almost got taken out by little kids a few times haha We ended up spending the night in Flagstaff which was nice...kind of a mini vacation right before school starts again. Finding the hotel was quite a challenge. I laughed harder today than I can remember doing for quite awhile.

Today was pretty laid back. Steve and I went up to my parents house to get some sleds so we can go sledding in Flagstaff tomorrow. After that we saw The Green Hornet...it was pretty good. Not a favorite but it wasn't bad either. The rest of the night consisted of dinner at my parents, playing board games with them and me losing haha I'll have to get my board game mojo back and dominate them another time.
Today I had a break through! Hallelujah! All last semester and this whole winter break I've been frustrating myself about what I should do for my portfolio that I submit to be officially accepted into the photography major at ASU. And it came to me today. I was sitting in Borders, reading a book then KaPlow! I finally realized how I can make all my other ideas come together as one. I'm going to focus on night photography. To me, night photography is like exploring a new world. As soon as the sun goes down, everything seems so different. I'm going to use different exposure times..I'm thinking I'll take some of people walking over a period of time so they appear as ghosts, have cars going by so all you see are the lights, hands of a clock whirling around. My idea is to focus on the idea of time. It seems to be going so fast lately. Photography gives me a feeling as if I can somehow control it because it allows me to capture a piece of time and keep it forever. I'm not just focusing on time really...but more of the feeling of time and what it does. I'm not really sure...but it's something I can build on and it's something that I've been thinking about for awhile so that's always good.
In other news, Steve and Heath got me addicted to The OC. I never thought I'd say it, but it actually is good.
Today I saw The Man aka Pumpkin. He's the coolest guy cat ever. I love Pumpkin :) When Misty and I lived with my parents, Pumpkin and Misty were kitty boyfriend-girlfriend. Yes, I am obsessed with cats but come on! Look at that face! He could win over any lady.
Today Steve and I made a real dinner together! Well, a real dinner for us haha Tortellini with alfredo sauce and five cheese bread with a glass of kool-aid. Very scrumptious :)
This is Herbert. Today I spent a lot of time with Herbert. I mostly stayed home and cleaned...laundry, dishes, vacuuming and such. You know, all the fun things. I got Herbert last year with my Mom, but today I realized he's my first plant I haven't killed out within a few weeks. He's a trooper. He's stuck through with me and I hope he'll stay around for awhile. And yes, those are googly eyes.
Today I watched the Eagles game with Steve, Jordan, Heath and Kaylor. Sadly the Eagles lost :( There's always next season though! After that Steve, Heath, Kaylor and I got coffee and then went to my place to play Risk. It was the first time I've ever played Risk...and they plotted against me so I lost! I'll get them next time :) St-eagles!

Today Abby got married to Wes! I can't believe how fast time is going. It seems like it was just yesterday that my sister Megan and I were playing circus with Abby and dying Easter eggs. I'm so incredibly happy that she found someone she wants to spend the rest of her life with :) They seem like a perfect match for one another and I wish them the best of luck. It was truly a beautiful day full of love.
Today was pretty laid back. I did a lot of cleaning around the apartment and laundry. Lots of fun :P Later in the evening though, I went bowling with Steve, Kaylor and Devyn. I lost horribly haha I'll have to work on my bowling skills this year. After bowling, Steve and I got Jack in the Box and watched some movies :)
Today seemed to be a day to look back in time. I went antiquing with my mom, dad, sister and her boyfriend Jake. I've always loved to look at old objects and wonder who it belonged to before and what it meant to them. I found this ring at the second place we went to and had to have it. It's so beautiful but not a typical beautiful. The little prongy parts that stick up around the pearl remind me of coral or tree branches...not sure which, but I like it.
After spending a few hours antiquing, we all went over to our old neighbor Bea's house to catch up with her. We haven't seen her in about 4 or 5 years so it was good to see her again. I remember her babysitting Megan (my sister) and I when we were really little. I always wanted to show Bea something really cool when she would come over so I'd spend all day thinking of something to do for her haha It was weird being in the old neighborhood again...everything seemed to stay the same while we moved away and changed so much.
Hmm..yeah. That was pretty much the day.
Today was pretty fun. Didn't do a whole lot during the day but I had sushi with Steve then we went to zoolights with my mom, dad, sister and her boyfriend. It was cold but the lights were pretty! We got some 3D glasses to look at the lights with...I took this picture through them. It's kind of weird to look at lights while wearing 3D glasses...I wouldn't have thought of doing that if someone didn't tell me to haha Seems like everything is going 3D these days :P After zoolights we all headed over to the Sugar Bowl, had some scrumptious ice cream and then Steve and I dominated my parents at air hockey :) Solid night.
Today was pretty chilly. Misty (my cat☝) spent most of the day snuggled up in my blankets. She's my little furbaby :)
The rest of the day wasn't so cute. I totally forgot to pay rent yesterday so I had to pay a late fee and get it all on a money order. Fantastic. I had to drive into ghettoville where for some reason they put a nice Wells Fargo bank..I have no idea why. Anyways, so I was inside the bank waiting in line when a guy behind the counter told me to go to the merchant room. So I walk over to the little merchant door and they had to buzz me in! I had no idea what was going on...I thought I was going to be questioned for looking suspicious or something haha But no, I got my money order and walked out of the little room just fine. It was all very weird though. I was the only one out of a huge line of people to be told to go in there and they didn't even know I needed a money order or anything. I don't know. It was all strange.
After that dumb rent crap, I spent the rest of the day brainstorming ideas for my photography portfolio...to no avail. I hope one day in the very near future a lightning bolt of genius photography creativity will strike down upon me and I can whip out my portfolio with ease. Probably won't happen but one can dream. Later on Steve and I went over to Jordan's and went in the hot tub. It felt soooo good. I'm planning on having more hot tubbing in my future. But okay, I'll end my rambling now.
Goodnight.
Today is Steve and mine 4 month-iversary :) I feel so lucky to have found such an amazing guy and even luckier that he lets me into his life. I hope we spend many many many more months together! So, today we went to Ihop for brunch then pretty much spent the rest of the day being bums. Eventually we decided to get off our bums and went into the street and tossed the ball around for a bit. It was the first time I've ever thrown a football! I was surprised I could actually throw it. After that we went to Dave and Busters and played some games...he beat me at air hockey this time but I will train and dominate next time!
Today was pretty relaxed. Just watched some movies and cleaned the apartment up. I made baked mac and cheese with garlic bread for dinner and then Steve and I went to Denny's for dessert. I had no idea Denny's had dessert let alone that it's actually delicious! So it sounds like today was pretty much just a stuff my face day. I'm okay with that.

Hello :) Happy 2011! I've decided that my new year resolution will be to commit to doing a 365 project. Everyday for one year I will take a picture and post it on here. Sounds like a big challenge, but I'm excited! My goal is to capture moments of my life that I might not usually remember. Everyday we experience something, but normally people only remember the big moments and toss away the smaller ones. I'm hoping that at the end of the year, I will have 365 pictures that will help me remember everyday...the good, the bad, the boring and the exciting. This is a big year for me. I'm submitting to be accepted into photography as a major at ASU, I'm going to celebrate my first ever one year anniversary with my boyfriend, I'm turning 21, and who knows what else! There's so much that can change my life this year and I don't want to forget any of it. So, let's see what 2011 has in store :)
Oh, so I'll try and add a little info to each picture everyday as well. This is a picture I took at Sweet Tomatoes. My boyfriend (Steve) and I like to take pictures of objects next to each other and tag them as each other. Cheesey couple thing, but I love it :) After Sweet Tomatoes and bumming around, Steve and I met Devyn and Heath at Denny's and played some Monopoly. I dominated woot! haha
P.s.
Sweet Tomatoes is delicious.
